“My son was welcomed for a visit before starting at Forest School and from that first day, we were struck by the calm and nurturing atmosphere. The staff are incredibly gentle; exactly what my son needed during an unsettled period in his mainstream school.
He quickly got into the swing of Forest School and now often comes home proudly showing us what he has made; from stools and candle holders to reindeers and even metal jewellery that he wears with pride.
Cooking on the fire has also build on his love of cooking and we now enjoy preparing even more meals together at home. His special Forest School book, filled with photos of his achievements, allows us to share in his learning and celebrate how far he’s come.
Forest School has given my son a sense of belonging when the mainstream school environment has sometimes made him feel otherwise. He looks forward to attending and always returns happy, confident and in great spirits.
For our child with SEND, this outdoor, hands-on environment has been truly transformative. There’s space for him to learn, create and also take time out when needed.
The staff are professional, caring and communicative, providing regular updates that reassure us as parents. They allow my son to be who he is rather than trying to mould him into something unachievable.
